Wow, it’s been a week already? After 1 week I’m feeling pretty good overall about this program. Afternoon’s can still be a bit of a bear to get through nutritionally but they are survivable. I think I would give the plan I am doing a B+ and there are other plans listed in the book and I think for weeks 3 & 4 I will try one of them. Once this case study is over this plan will fit in nicely in the rotation with my other nutrition plans. The workout I would also give a solid B for a grade. I’m used to more exercises that isolate the muscle more then these workouts. Mike’s workout’s are total body and give you that complete workout in a much shorter time then any of mine did. It’s a nice change of pace as well. There is also a workout listed for @ home in case you don’t have access to a gym. I will need to look at that more in depth and possibly give it a shot. Have to wait and see about that. A day away from the gym is very painful.
Speaking of pain, my knees are good so I am ready to call my new shoes a success. We will see after the next 3 day run of workouts. My back is a bit stiff today but I did move up in weight on dead lift a t-bar row once again. I’m thinking of moving those lifts to the end of my workout instead of the beginning when I am not fully warmed up. Plus I usually have a nice pump going towards the end of the workout which makes these lifts a bit easier on this old man. I’m going to try to get some updated measurements this week and post any difference and somebody who shall remain nameless asked me for some updated photo’s. I will get them done as well probably tomorrow night.
The best and worst part of this program is the time of year I am going through it, Halloween to almost Thanksgiving. The biggest baking and candy holiday we have in the US. I know for a fact I’d be munching on some sort of sugary goodness but have been shockingly clean. Cravings are hard to fight off but so far so good. Friday night will be tough, that is our communities “trick or treat” night. Saturday we are hosting a Halloween party so that will be my cheat day.
Today was an off day and it rained all day so was not able to get in a walk, so been pretty much a couch potato. Oh well just resting and healing for tomorrow night. Well that’s about it for tonight, sorry not too much to report.
Jay is OUT
yep, that’s how to manage the holidays and special days, find a way to get them scheduled on the same day as your cheat days. Cuz life happens, right? There’s always a way, as long as some good planning goes into it. We don’t plan to fail but we do fail to plan a lot… managing this will give you the freedom to stick with the .. um.. plan.
“someone who will remain nameless?” as in … um… ‘girlwithnoname’ perhaps? ha. yes please, new pics are on the request list!
thanks Jay, you’re doing great.
Week 1… down
It’s all about gaining momentum and building a streak.
