Just Another Manic Monday – Day 13

Just Another Manic Monday – Day 13

It’s just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
‘Cause that’s my funday
My I DO have to runday
It’s just another manic Monday…

So I had fun with one of the words but it’s more fitting that way. I despise day’s off from working out. I end up turning into a couch potato, especially this time of year. It gets dark @ 5pm and I’m still at work. So much for getting in a walk after work. I was able to get one in today at work, guess it will have to do. Once the fitness bug bites you it becomes an addiction that can only be satisfied by a solid workout. Knee update, hurts walking up stairs, running is out of the question. Hopefully tomorrow is a bit better. Food was good today except for all the leftover Halloween junk at work. I must say I did contribute to it. We had leftover cookies and cupcakes that the wife bought still in the house so I took them to work for my team members to inhale and they did at that. I don’t normally like to contribute to the delinquency of others but…. who am I kidding of course I do. The stuff is out of the house and somebody got to enjoy it. As long as it brought some sort of pleasure to somebody all is well. Tonight’s dinner was 4oz chicken, half a sweet potato with some real butter, and 9 oz green beans. All this doused in mustard and black pepper. Lunch was a nice chicken wrap with spinach, salsa, avocado, and a decent pinch of shredded cheddar with an apple. Love it when apples are in season, honeycrips’s every day.

Oh boy Phillies just scored again and again, now it’s 5-1. Phillies are a long shot but I am not ready for baseball to end just yet. I would like to see the series go 7 games. Make that 6-1!!

The other day I came across a tweet to check out a case study on Phentermine. I checked it out and the person on it doesn’t sound like the type that should be taking it according to the manufactures sight, interesting don’t you think. Anyway, I’m not going to get into whether or not this actually works, it’s  a prescription weight loss alternative. My concern is regarding the warnings that come with it and possible side affects. I’ll let you read all the information for yourself. One of the warnings really caught my eye: Have a brain or spinal cord disorder, hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol or lipid levels. Odds are the person this drug would be prescribed to may have HBP, diabetes/pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, or high lipid levels. I know I would have been close to all of them at one time and I know I have an addiction to food. Then looking at the possible side affects I can’t help but laugh. Why would you take the chance, it could do much more damage then good. It’s obviously not a magic pill or it would be all over the news and us big people everywhere would be taking it. I guess it’s the hope factor that comes with it, you hope that it will help you do something that you don’t/or can’t do on your own and that is control your appetite. Speaking from my own experience you don’t really learn it until you try it. You know the magic pill doesn’t exist but yet you want to try it just so you know for sure. Eventually you learn there is no substitute for hard work and good nutrition. Mike Geary’s book “The Truth About SIX PACK ABS” does give you a great education on nutrition and the food plans are pretty good. I know I have said that in the past but it needs repeating. Mike has done his research and gives you the information in a way that even a caveman (like myself) will understand.

Well I think that is enough for tonight, I need to get back to baseball. Don’t give up the hope and tomorrow is another day. Make good choices and good things may happen. Good nutrition and fat burning is just a meal away.

Hopefully everybody has a ruby Tuesday.
